Mindful Space offers you ancient wisdom and modern day psychology
Mindful Space incorporates my doctoral research into mindfulness titled 'A phenomenological exploration into psychotherapists' experiences of their breath awareness in psychotherapy' . It also includes my experience supporting individuals in the NHS and mental health charities, when I provide group work and 1:1 sessions in mindfulness.
What Does it mean to be Mindful?
Mindfulness practices stem from ancient wisdom that began over 2500BC, primarily from Buddhist traditions. Mindfulness is supported by modern day psychology, it has been thoroughly researched and is found to be effective in areas of mental and physical health including improving our immunity.
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present and aware of where we are and what we are doing. It supports us not to be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around us but to respond with insight to our everyday experiences.
Mindfulness is a quality that is available to everyone, yet it requires developing the skill so that you can access it.
The Types of Mindfulness Practice
Mindfulness can be cultivated in different ways such as, when sitting, when walking or lying down. It can be accessed by adding it into our everyday lives.
Research and evidence based practice shows the use of mindful approaches involving skills such as, concentration and self-compassion can lead to clarity and a deep sense of well-being.
Mindful Space 1:1 sessions are designed for professionals from the corporate world, the entertainment industry, sports, legal and medical professionals. They provide a space to navigate every day life. The 1 hour sessions take place on a monthly basis and therefore provide ongoing support. These sessions offer a confidential space in which to explore with insightful guidance, different areas of an individual's experience.
